KWAX-FM is a noncommercial, all-classical music radio station that is owned and operated by the University of Oregon, but supported primarily by listener donations and sponsorships.

KWAX boasts an impressive collection of more than 10,000 compact discs and is one of the few stations in the world with a vinyl collection of more than 13,000 records.

In 2007, the station added a digital transmitter that allows transmission of CD-quality audio along with additional audio and data channels.

Station programming features performances from a wide range of sources, including the UO School of Music and Dance, the Eugene Symphony, and other local music organizations.
